Notice that God repeats the command to bee strong three times (in verses 6, 7, and 9), emphasizing its importance. The children of Israel were to possess the promise that God had given them with strength. When difficult circumstances came up, their hands were to be strengthened already around the promises of God, so their grip would not fail. They were not to be like their ancestors who saw giants and fortified cities and did not hold the promises of God with great strength.

Likewise, God commands us to be of good courage, which means to be strong, determined, bold, or courageous. This means that we should not simply wait for God's promises to come to us, but actively pursue them with determination and boldness. We should approach God's promises with an unapologetic attitude, refusing to be deterred by obstacles or challenges that may come our way. We should be confident in our faith and trust that God will fulfill His promises to us.

Instead, we must be proactive and reach out to take what God has given us. We must be unapologetic in our pursuit of God's promises and be willing to storm any stronghold of Satan in faith. We must ask ourselves, what promises are we not pursuing in our lives? What strongholds of Satan are we not storming in faith? These are the areas where we need to be more courageous and determined in our faith. Let us be bold for Christ and actively pursue His promises, without fear or hesitation.
